Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  •  stand mixer or hand mixer
  • airtight container

Ingredients

  • To create your very own honey cinnamon butter you’ll need:
  • - ½ cup salted butter softened
  • - ¼ cup powdered sugar
  • - 1 Tablespoon honey
  • - ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • - 1 ½ teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • - ⅛ teaspoon sea salt
  • - ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg for an extra flavor boost
  • - 1 teaspoon maple syrup optional, for added sweetness
  • Note: The addition of nutmeg and a touch of maple syrup enhances the depth of flavor without overwhelming the primary ingredients.

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare Your Mixing Bowl

  • Take out a mixing bowl. If you’re using a stand mixer, attach the paddle attachment. If you’re going for the old-school method with a hand mixer, then a large bowl will do just fine.

Step 2: Combine the Ingredients

  • In your chosen mixing bowl, add in the softened salted butter. It’s important that the butter is at room temperature; cold butter won’t blend well. Now, sprinkle in the powdered sugar, ground cinnamon, and nutmeg, followed by the honey and vanilla extract. If you like an extra touch of sweetness, toss in the maple syrup.

Step 3: Mix Until Fluffy

  • Now comes the fun part! Use your stand mixer or hand mixer to blend everything together. Start at a low speed to avoid a sugar cloud, and gradually increase to medium speed. Beat until the ingredients meld into a light, fluffy mixture; this should only take about 2-3 minutes.

Step 4: Taste and Adjust

  • Taste your honey cinnamon butter. If you feel it needs a little more sweetness, add a touch more honey or maple syrup. For a bit more kick, add another sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg. Adjusting the flavor to your liking is key!

Step 5: Serve or Store

  • Transfer your heavenly concoction to an airtight container. It can sit at room temperature for about a week, or you can tuck it away in the refrigerator for up to a month to keep it fresher longer.

Notes

- Soften Your Butter: Make sure your butter is really softened for the best consistency. Leave it out for a bit if needed, but don’t microwave it!
- Experiment with Spices: Love cardamom or cloves? Feel free to experiment with different spices that would complement the honey and butter.
- Check the Sweetness: Taste your butter before you store it! Adjust the sweetness to your preference.
- Use Quality Ingredients: The better the butter and honey, the more flavorful your butter will be. Go for high-quality, local honey if you can.
- Perfect Pairings: This spread is not just great on bread—try it on pancakes, waffles, or even as a surprise filling for pastries!
