Equipment

  • jar

Ingredients

  • 4 cups of purified water
  • 1 cup of vibrant lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 1/2 cup of fine granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of honey for added sweetness
  • 1/4 teaspoon of sea salt to enhance flavor

Instructions

Step 1: Gather Your Tools

  • You’ll need a few essentials for this task:
  • A jar or pitcher for mixing.
  • A measuring cup for accuracy.
  • A juicer or citrus press to squeeze those lemons.
  • A whisk or spoon for stirring.
  • Lastly, grab some ice cubes—lots of them!

Step 2: Squeeze the Lemons

  • Start by washing your lemons. Fresh lemons will yield the best juice. Cut them in half, and get your juicer ready. If you don’t have a juicer, don’t fret! You can use a fork to extract juice by twisting it into the lemon halves. Aim for about 1 cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice.

Step 3: Combine the Ingredients

  • In your jar or pitcher, combine the purified water, freshly squeezed lemon juice, granulated sugar, honey, and sea salt. Use a whisk or spoon to mix everything well. Make sure the sugar dissolves completely. This could take a couple of minutes. If you don’t dissolve the sugar properly, you might end up with a gritty lemonade.

Step 4: Chill and Serve

  • Once mixed, taste your lemonade. You can adjust the sweetness if needed. Add more honey or sugar based on your preference. Afterward, pour the lemonade over ice, grab a glass, and enjoy!

Step 5: Garnish (Optional)

  • For an extra touch, garnish with lemon slices or fresh mint leaves. It adds flair and promises a fantastic visual presentation.

Notes

  • Choose the Right Lemons: Look for lemons that feel heavy for their size. This indicates juiciness!
  • Chill Your Water: Using cold water is key. It allows the ingredients to meld together without waiting too long.
  • Make It Ahead: Prepare this lemonade a day in advance. It gives flavors time to enhance each other.
  • Adjust to Taste: Taste often while mixing. Personal preference varies, so hone it to your liking.
  • Experiment with Flavors: Have fun adding seasonal fruit like strawberries or blueberries.
