- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 1/4 cups white granulated sugar
- 2/3 cup 5 fluid ounces evaporated milk from NESTLÉ® CARNATION®
- 2 cups miniature marshmallows
- 1/2 cup NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Premier White Chocolate Chips
- 1 cup 6 ounces NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Step 1: Prepare Your Ingredients
First, gather all your ingredients. Having everything prepped and ready to go makes the cooking process smoother and more enjoyable. Measure out your sugar, butter, evaporated milk, marshmallows, and chocolate chips. This ensures you won’t be scrambling in the middle of cooking.
Step 2: Mix the Base
In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, butter, and evaporated milk. Stir it over medium heat until the butter melts and the sugar dissolves. Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring constantly for about 5 minutes. You’ll notice it thickening up nicely.
Step 3: Add Marshmallows and Chocolate
Remove the pan from the heat. Stir in the marshmallows, white chocolate chips, and vanilla extract. Keep stirring until everything is well combined and the marshmallows and chocolate chips are fully melted.
Step 4: Prepare the Chocolate Component
In a separate bowl, melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between. Once melted and smooth, add the ground cinnamon and chopped nuts. Stir to combine.
- Use Quality Chocolate: The better the chocolate, the more delicious the fudge.
- Don’t Overcook the Sugar Mixture: This could lead to a grainy texture.
- Stir Constantly: To avoid burning, make sure to constantly stir the mixture until the marshmallows and chocolate chips are fully melted.
- Line Your Pan: Use parchment paper to make removing the fudge easier.
- Room Temperature Setting: Allow the fudge to set at room temperature before refrigerating for the best texture.
